Harnessing Diasporans’ Entrepreneurship Impact and Direct Investments

“We are the Investors we have been waiting for.” _Vickie Remoe

MAKE SIERRA LEONE FAMOUS!

Sierra Leoneans from different works of life and service industries converged at the first-ever Sierra Leonean Diasporans Investment Conference Event held in Maryland, USA.

The summit was targeted at Sierra Leoneans who do business in Sierra Leone—or aspire to relocate and do business with the option of doing it remotely.

The event drew a crowd of over 200 attendees.

It covered relevant major topics in people’s minds.

The panelist gave candid and valuable information from their knowledge and experiences.

It inspires what is possible…

The desire for what we want personally or jointly can be attained with a joint effort of responsibility in doing business with the principles, standards, discipline, and commitment it requires.

To make Salone Famous, as Vickie said, is us doing our part diligently in whatever area you find yourself participating in the country in a well-meaning way.

There are thousands of Sierra Leoneans abroad doing business in Sierra Leone; some are service providers between their adopted countries and Sierra Leone.

How do we harness this human capital of Entrepreneurship to make more impact as diasporans in the development and growth of our economy?

Vickie in her concluding statement at the conference stated, “We open an angel investment business model where Sierra Leoneans can make investments for returns on businesses that are SMEs that can be upscaled for bigger distribution in a global market.

…thereby creating a win-win for diasporans and job opportunities in Sierra Leone.”

This concluding statement would not have been any better. It made the theme of the event relatable.

And the slogan “We are the Investors we have been waiting for” became profound and personal.

I deeply appreciate Vickie for putting the country first, with an inspiring event and a call to action road map of bridging Sierra Leonean Diasporans and investing in Sierra Leone. 🇸🇱

Let’s make Salone famous.
